Removing a large Texas Cottonwood Tree in the backyard down to ground with stump grinding. The tree was brought down with a roping system not to impede the service line, cable line, phone line, fence or any other obstacle on the property. The tree branches weigh 100-250 lbs. and are being roped down from about 50-60 foot in the air.
The tree climbers are making specific cuts to control the large branches safely to the ground. All branches and logs are manually carted to the front yard to be chipped or loaded with the debris hauled away. This day, the ground was soft due to rain a couple of days prior, therefore we were not able to use any machinery. The customer was completely satisfied with this project.
Texas Cottonwood Trees
Cottonwood trees are a type of tree that is native to North America and are commonly found in the southern and western regions of the United States, including Texas. They are known for their large size and fast growth rate, with some species growing up to 100 feet tall and 80 feet wide. They are also known for their cotton-like seeds, which are produced in large quantities and can be a nuisance in areas where cottonwoods are abundant.
Cottonwoods have a weak wood structure and are often prone to breaking or falling during storms or strong winds. They also have a shallow root system, which can cause them to be more susceptible to damage during heavy rains or flooding. Additionally, cottonwoods are known to have a relatively short lifespan compared to other trees, with some species only living for around 30 years.
Despite these challenges, cottonwoods can be an attractive option for landscaping in the right setting, due to their large size and fast growth rate. They are also used as shade trees in parks and other public spaces, and are a popular choice for riparian restoration projects due to their tolerance for wet soils.
